Arline writes "Life is so good right now. Have been retired
for about 2.5 months and
love everything about it. I love sitting at my dining room
window and
watching the many birds we have in our backyard. I love having
plenty
of time to practice my viola and play in my flower gardens. I
love
have control of my house again. I love being able to work on
scrapbooks and make cards and knit and whatever else I may want
to
do. It is glorious.
Garry and I are going on an Alaskan cruise in September. Beyond
that
we have no plans to travel. We are such home bodies."

Hazel writes
My husband has retired and we
are now moving to Vancouver, WA where we will
live in the house we built for retirement, 15 years ago. Dick
Jones is
building the fence for our back yard to keep our two dogs out
of the golf
course. We have just spent some time there getting everything
arranged and
are now back in Virginia to do the final sorting and packing.
We are going
to the Dalmatian Coast the middle of July for three weeks and
will do the
big move when we return. We should be in Vancouver about the
20th of
August. We have loved living in Virginia but will not miss the
humidity.

I asked Hazel about the ship they had built in
China. She replied
We took the boat up the Erie
Canal last summer and spent a month on Lake
Ontario. We had a wonderful time. We were gone for 3 months or
so and when
we got back decided we had to sell the boat as the price for
sending it to
Seattle had tripled since the boat had arrived here. So, we
left it in
Annapolis and it has been sold, ironically enough, to a man from
Seattle and
it is already there. It was great fun to build it and we
enjoyed having it,
but now it is time to do other things. We will probably charter
boats in
the future, if we want to do that.

Hello to all,
Today is the two week anniversary of my new right hip. All
titanium and ceramic. Amazing to see two of those in my hips!!
Thanks to all who kept me in your thoughts and prayers. Sharon
is also doing fine. I am able to move around pretty good and the
new hip will support my weight if I just stand. Another week or
two and we will be about and around, hoping to see those of you
that are close. The 3 weeks that we were at home from winter
just flew by, what with all the dr. appts., blood letting, etc.
Thank the good Lord it is all done and we won't have to be near
a hospital or a doctors office for years!!!
Looking forward to seeing you all sometime soon. The four
walls are closing in on both of us. Take care of all of you and
see you soon.
