I would like to tell you why this website is a gift
to me.
- It verifies a large part of
my life, long before spouses
and children and
grandchildren, it helps to
tell my story.
- Together, with the
contributing memory of
many, I am able to piece
together my childhood, my
neighborhood, my town, my
friends, my past, my roots.
- When times are bad, I can go
back to this site and
remember better times.
- It represents my beginning
and I love reading about who
we have become from a fairly
humble background - I think
we truly represent middle
America and the heart of
this nation.
- All of you inspire me to do
even better, even now,
toward the latter part of my
life, to share our stories
with our children and
grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
- So, thank you Dorothy, for
your gift. It is truly
important. And thank you to
those who continue to share
and for those who can't or
won't, you are still
important to us also for you
were there with us.

My brother and his
wife took me out to dinner and he
told the manager it was my birthday.
When he came back to the table, his
eyes were dancing and he was
fidgety. When they came in singing
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, there was no doubt
in my mind that he had not gone to
the bathroom like he said but had
pulled a fast one me and couldn't
wait for the show. So here I am, 65
years behind me, wearing a sombrero
and drinking a festive drink while
having my picture taken.
