Lee
Curtis
Frank
Tester
Lee writes "Part of the month of
January the wife and I took a trip
to Calif, Ariz, and Nevada and the
highlight for me was that we dropped
in on Frank Tester in Modesto and
had lunch and a nice visit. We had
last seen each other in the summer
of 56 when I moved away, how crazy
is that. Frank was retiring the
following week. He told me I had to
make your next reunion so I will."

Carol Rombold writes "My
retirement date is getting closer
and closer. However, it has not
been announced at work yet. My boss
will probably do the official
announcement the first week of
March. That way I don’t have to
deal with people coming around and
making me sad to be leaving. I have
worked for the same company for 38
years. That is a long time and I
have seen a lot of things change.
I have set April 1st
as my tentative last day. Depends
if I get all my projects cleaned up
or turned
over to someone else. I’m busily
making notes and cleaning out files,
drawers, etc., of all that stuff I
thought I needed, but
I’m sure others would consider just
junk. I can’t throw anything away.
I might need it. Kind of like at
home.
My boss is not hiring anyone at this
time to replace me. He is turning
my desk over to an existing
employee, who hopes can handle
everything along with what she
already does. I have been asked to
come back for special projects, and
may be keeping my company cell
phone.
‘Just in case’. My replacement also
asked for my home address.
My husband and I bought a new quad
and a trailer to haul it in. Hoping
to get back into that again. We did
that for years and really enjoyed
it. Missed it when we sold them and
wished later that we had kept them.
We bought just one that rides 2, so
I can sit back and enjoy the scenery
and no work. We have only gone out
once and that was in the snow above
Oakridge a few weeks ago. We love
riding at the coast and desert so
have plans for that.
Also are planning a trip to Montana
to see our grandkids. Haven’t seen
them for 2 years and have a new one
over a year old that we haven’t see
at all.
Hope to see many of you in September
at the campout."
Carol wants you
to know she has a new email address
for her home.

Sally Sanborn
and Dorothy Naylor
Dorothy writes "Sally lives in
Burns, Oregon and on my way home
from western Oregon I stayed
overnight in Burns. In the
morning, we met for breakfast.
It was the first time we had
seen each other since high
school graduation. What a
wonderful visit except I forgot
to take my camera."

Jackie Hartman writes "I've
been going through boxes of
photographs, and actually
putting them in albums, and came
across this picture from
Brattain School. It was labeled
2nd grade on the back--it's Mrs.
Hilton's class. I'm in the back
row, 3rd from the right. This
class had 35 kids! Can you
imagine that now? Mrs. Hilton
didn't have any aides, either,
that I can remember. There is a
little boy named Skippy sitting
next to Ed Guiley's right. I'm
wondering if anyone remembers
him? I think he lived on E or D
street about between 5th and 6th
street. I used to walk past his
house on the way to school. I
lived on E between 4th and 5th.
I think it's wonderful that so
many of us have kept our
friendships since the first
grade! Not many can say that!
It really makes me cherish those
friendships going through these
old photos.

The

afternoon at the Casa Grande Ruins in
Coolidge, Arizona.

Rich Peterson drove to Coolidge to have
lunch with us in historic Florence,
Arizona.

The
U Of O fans gather together in Arizona
to watch an Oregon game on TV.

John gets hungry on the Apache Trail
so checks out the prickly pear.

Tortilla Flats' women's restroom is a
swinging place.

Dennis and Nancy Prociw visit Hohokam.
Sharon Skinner is missing due to
illness.

The
Hales are enjoying the Coolidge Cotton
Days' parade.

One of
Steve's "ringer's" during
the horseshoe tournament.
He also had some "double
ringers" throughout the nine
games they played.
Steve and his partner, Jim,
won the Coolidge Cotton Days
horseshoe tournament. They
split $175 and each won a
Budweiser chair. Jim is
also at Hohokam park and

Charles Pattee's sister, Verna,
wrote "We had a surprise 65th
birthday party for Charles
in Silverton. He is beginning to
talk about moving his
accounting practice to an office in
his home and cutting back on new
clients. I think we were
really able to surprise him!
We had a good time and his son, Tom,
put together a great slide show of
old photos. Very fun!
